Bear fell in love with Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars when he was almost three years old. So for his 3 year old birthday, I dug through bins and hangers in several stores to find 3 vehicles with the number 3 on them. He got these as a present. I did the same thing for his 4th birthday. Once I decided that this would be a fun birthday tradition to carry on, I searched for one #1 and 2 #2 vehicles.
To give him these cars, I hide them. Bear gets such a kick out of looking for them. I figure a tradition like this can be carried on for about the next 4-6 years. The only thing is that as he gets older, I will have to find more cars. That’ll mean some pre-planning for me to have time to search and get them all.

What a cute idea! Our main birthday tradition so far is that the kids always get two gifts: one that is just for them and one to share with siblings.
What a cute idea 🙂 We really do not have "tradition" as such. But now I feel I should have SOMETHING for his 4th bday nxt year 🙂
