Hi! I am Isil from Smiling like
Sunshine and I am delighted to be a guest here today. I love this series on
Andie’s blog. I live in England since 2006 with
my husband, my 5 year old daughter Defne, and two year old son Derin. I am
originally from Turkey. I studied economics and worked as a purchasing specialist
but I decided to be a stay at home mum when children came along. Now the
children are getting older and I decided to train as a Montessori teacher in
the early years.

What is the most challenging part of being the type of
mom you are?
You know the saying: It takes a village to raise a
child. Having no family support is the most difficult thing for me. Sometimes
you just need a break, even if it is an hour. It would be so convenient to drop
the kids at their grandma or aunts! My daughter is at school and my son goes
to nursery two days a week and although very little, I do get a little bit of
time just for myself! But then I also miss spending one to one time with my
daughter.She started to school last September. If we had family around, it would
be easier to arrange these.

What is the most
rewarding?
Smiles and hugs and seeing them grow developing their own
personality.

In your opinion, what’s the
most important value(s) parents can instill in their children?
I hope to raise children who are empathetic, well-balanced
and know how to be happy.
If your children could
describe you in 3 words, which ones would they pick?
This is a tough question 😉 I asked my daughter and
she said I am kind and funny 😉
