We’re Going on a (Teddy) Bear Hunt
(refrain)
We’re gonna catch a teddy bear!
I’m gonna get a hug!
Are you?
I am!
Gotta open the door
Now we’re on a bear hunt
We’re gonna catch a teddy bear
I’m gonna get a hug!
Are you?
I am!
We’re coming to a store shelf
It sure is high
It sure is wide
Can’t go under it
Can’t go around it
Gotta go over it
Are they selling any teddy bears?
Nope. No bears there.
Gotta keep searching
Oh! I think I see something
Quick! Everybody run!
(refrain)
We’re coming to a toy box
It sure is deep
It sure is wide
Can’t go under it
Can’t go around it
Gotta go through it
Dig through all the toys! Any teddies?
Nope. No bears there.
Gotta keep searching
Oh! I think I see something
Quick! Everybody run!
(refrain)
Oh, no!
It’s a big pile of playdough
It sure is deep
It sure is wide
Can’t go under it
Can’t go around it
Gotta go through it
Squish, squash, blaahhh
Shovel through all the playdough! Any teddies?
Nope. No bears there.
Gotta keep searching
Oh! Is there something up here?
Wipe all the playdough off!
(refrain)
We’re coming to a chocolate milk river
It sure is big
No bridge going over it
No tunnel going under it
And we’re gonna have to swim
All right, dive in!
Start swimming
Do the back stroke
Do the side stroke
Do the doggie paddle
Try the little cat paddle
OK Jump out, shake yourself off.
(refrain)
Shhh, we found a great big snuggly bed
Looks like the kind of bed that a teddy bear sleeps in
I don’t know if I we should crawl in there
You think we should?
There’s probably a teddy bear in there
All right I’ll go in, You stay here,
And if I find a teddy bear, I’ll come out and get you
And we’ll all go in and grab him together
Now, quiet, don’t make a sound while I’m in there,
Cuz if you wake him up, I’ll be in trouble
Teddy bears are awful cranky when you wake them up
OK, I’m going on in
Oooo, It’s dark in here
I can’t see a thing
Agh, there’s lots of blankets!
And a stinky sock!
Ooo, what was that???
What’s this??. . it’s soft, uh oh, it’s kind of fuzzy.
I feel a round tummy… and a tiny button nose
Quick! Run! Everybody run!
I’ve got the teddy bear!
Jump in the chocolate milk! Swim fast!
Do the backstroke!
The sidestroke, the doggie paddle
Jump out of the water
Stomp through the playdough!
Run through the toy box!
Quick! Go up the store shelf
Down the other side
Go thru the door and into the house!
We’ve got the teddy bear!
Everyone give it a big hug!
–Traditional, adapted by Andie Jaye
Touch the ground.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Turn around.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Show your shoe.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
That will do.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Run upstairs.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Say your prayers.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Blow out the light.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Say good night.
