I saw this great idea (“kickboxing or boxkicking”) over at Sense of Wonder and knew I would try it out with they boys. My oldest loves paint and kicking and the little guy likes being rough, so this looked like their kind of fun.
What I used: crayola finger paint (So far for me it has been easy to clean up and get out of clothes- I always use a stain spray before washing and wash the same day), a plastic box, paper (we used copy paper once and then I used cardstock the 2nd time and liked it better), and balls (we used a plastic golf ball and bouncy ball).
What we did: I put the paper in the box and gave a few squirts of paint and then my son added the balls. I closed the lid and told him to kick it or shake it to mix the paint around with the balls. He didn’t go crazy with it like I thought, but he did have fun kicking the box around a few times and shaking it up. I think he enjoyed taking the lid off the most to see what happened inside. That afternoon, when little brother was up, we repeated this step for him. He kicked it once and shook it a little but he just wanted in the box to get the balls out. Again I think he had fun to just trying something new.

Sooo much fun. Looks like this is a family craft project. This momma needs to kick…opps create some art like this.
